Satellite Identification & Location System Satellite Identification & Location System determines the location of both known subscribers and unwanted interferers.Quick and accurate co-ordinates from SILS enable the satellite operator to target "where on Earth" to take action and mitigate damage to their service. We enable our customers to: maintain their satellite communication capacity, offer higher quality of service, lower subscriber complaint levels and identify where denial of service threats are located.

The multiple satellite location technique is based on the principle of simultaneous determination of the Differential Slant Range and Differential Slant Range Rate, which are determined by knowledge of the satellite position and velocity.

Interference is determined from the results using the technique above, which identifies the interfering transmitting site using two geostationary satellites, one of which is the interfered satellite.
Measurement of Time & Frequency Difference of Arrival of the interfering signal is made through use of signals retransmitted by the interfered satellite and by an adjacent satellite, and received by two monitoring earth stations.
The systems comprise a number of data capture hardware units together with PC based software support for computation and data presentation.
Features
Locating satellite transmitters quickly and accurately.
Uses separate down converters for each channel to allow data capture of target and reference signals on different transponders.
Architecture of the software allows multiple computers to be utilised enabling processing.
