LAWFUL INTERCEPTION (LI) SYSTEM

LAWFUL INTERCEPTION (LI) SYSTEM

Stratign’s LI system is a turnkey solution for the monitoring, processing, decoding distribution and presentation of intercepted data of Targets from circuit switched networks.

Lawful communications interception is critical to government law enforcement agency efforts to conduct thorough investigations and build evidence that is both admissible and compelling. Nearly every country has adopted lawful interception standards and regulations that require communications content and data to be captured and presented in such a way as to guarantee their integrity and reliability.
Most countries enforce that Service Providers (SPs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
implement their networks to explicitly support authorized electronic surveillance by LEAs. The types of SPs or ISPs that are subject to LI mandates vary greatly from country to country. Governments require phone service providers to install a legal interception gateway (LIG), along legal interception nodes (LIN), which allow them to intercept in real-time the phone calls, SMS messages, emails and some file transfers or instant messages. The global LI requirements and standards have already been developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) for wireline/Internet, wireless, and cable systems.
The Stratign Monitoring Centre (STN-MC) is a turnkey solution for the monitoring, processing, decoding distribution and presentation of intercepted data of Targets from circuit switched networks. (e.g., mobile and fixed telephony) as well as for packet switched networks (e.g., internet, email) and is used by law enforcement and/or intelligence agencies. The STN MC is compliant with the latest ETSI, 3GPP and/or CALEA specifications for lawful Interception but can also support country specific LI handover protocols.

System Features

Physical Channels
Independent reception of up to 32 physical channels, i.e., 32 duplex calls.
Voice and SMS Communications
The system automatically decrypts the Voice and SMS communication in real time.
Decoding
Decoding (extraction of packets, demultiplexing, descrambling, deinterlacing, removal of a convolutional code) of digital streams.
Selection of Coverage Area
Coverage area can be selected by the operator according to the priority of intelligence mission.
Managing Databases
Managing databases (DB) of the intercepted/saved sessions.
Digital Map
The location of the target can be mapped on Digital map.
Identification
Processing of the received segments and commands for the purpose of identification in received streams of the beginning/ending of sessions.
Classification
Classification of the selected sessions by types of a useful load (Speech, Short Message Services, paging/control messages).
On-line & Off-line Analysis Tools
The system can be integrated with Stratign’s Analysis Systems such as Voice Forensic System, Link Analysis System, OSINT, etc.
Selection of DB Sessions
Selection of DB sessions by plural attributes and parameters.
