GNSS Jammers are designed to disable GPS/GLONASS/COMPASS/Galileo satellite receivers. It prevents the process of geographical coordinates measurements by the GNSS receivers.
Majority of people are familiar with GPS. The Global Positioning System has probably protected you from getting lost in an unknown place as well. Often, the terms “GNSS” and “GPS” are used interchangeably. A satellite navigation or satnav system is a system of satellites that provide autonomous geo-spatial positioning with global coverage. It allows small electronic receivers to ascertain their location (longitude, latitude, and altitude/elevation) to high precision (within a few metres) using time signals transmitted along a line of sight by radio from satellites.
The signals also allow the electronic receivers to calculate the current local time to high precision, which allows time synchronisation. Winged missiles, UAVs, and gliding bombs lose their ability to be aimed at the targets because they cannot determine their own current coordinate and consequently cannot execute the guidance commands for flight.
