LASER DEFENSE [HARD KILL]

LASER DEFENSE [HARD KILL]

The laser defense hard-kill anti-drone system detects the drone, tracks its position and altitude, and destroys the drone.

Drones pose a significant threat to critical infrastructure. Several incidents in recent years have underscored the rapidly emerging threat posed by drones. Drones can carry harmful payloads such as explosives, biological or chemical substances. Therefore, innovative solutions are required to counteract this evolving threat.
The laser defense hard-kill anti drone system operates on ‘Detect-Locate-Destroy’ approach. The system first detects the drone, then categorizes it based on size, speed, and flight path. Once classified, it initiates target locking using tracking mechanisms to maintain precise aim on the drone. This phase is crucial as it ensures the laser beam remains focused on the target throughout engagement. At the core of the laser beam hard-kill system are its high-energy laser emitters. These devices emit powerful laser beams directed at vulnerable areas of the drone such as electronics, sensors, and propulsion systems. The laser’s interaction disrupts the drone’s flight stability by affecting its control systems. Prolonged exposure to high-energy beams damages the drone structurally, potentially causing physical harm to the aircraft.
This system can be quickly disassembled and assembled, deployed in mobile or fixed configurations, providing reliable defense against drone attacks.
Fixed systems are typically installed in strategic locations such as military bases, critical infrastructure sites, or high-security zones, providing continuous protection against drone threats.
Vehicle-mounted systems offer mobility and flexibility, enabling rapid deployment to various locations and operational environments where immediate drone defense is required.
